Observation

During the Complaint Inspection and proceeding interviews of all staff involved, and parent of child involved, explained they found two children, who were not being actively supervised on the playground. The parent had been told by staff, their child had already been checked out. The parent then searched the facility, later finding two children outside, unattended, and staff being unaware they were outside. The transition of the children happened at 4:30pm, when 7 children were left to play on playground, then again transitioned at 5:00pm, to bring that group of children to the closing teacher, who only accounted for 5 children, not knowing of the two children still outside, until the parent found their child and another one outside playing after 5:30pm. This suspected neglect was not directly reported to the department by staff at site, as required as mandated reporting.
